Wednesday, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office announced that the trade balance of EUR 3.31 billion surplus in the January to September period, revised from EUR 3.32 billion surplus estimated initially. A year ago, the trade deficit was EUR 172 million.
During the period, the volume of exports and imports decreased by 16% and 22% respectively. Exports and imports volume revised from a decline of 23% and 29% reported initially.
In September, exports volume dropped 7% year-on-year to EUR 5.61 billion in September, while imports volume fell 11% to EUR 5.13 billion. The trade surplus stood at EUR 477 million in September, revised from EUR 486 million surplus estimated earlier.
