German Industrial Production Rises In August

German industrial production rose 1.7% in August from July, while economists were looking for an increase of 1.8%, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology reported Thursday. The monthly growth rate in August reversed a 1.1% fall seen in July.

On an annual basis, production plunged 16.2% in August compared to a 17% fall in July.
