French consumer price index or CPI climbed 0.4% year-on-year in November, after falling 0.2% in October, the statistical office INSEE said on Tuesday. This was the first annual increase in seven months. Economists' expected an increase of 0.5%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.1% in November, same as in the previous month. Adjusted for seasonal variations, the monthly change went up by 0.3%.
Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 0.5% on an annual basis and was up 0.2% compared to the preceding month.
