Saturday, Chinese leaders are attending the annual Central Economic Work Conference to decide the policy direction for next year, the Xinhua news agency reported. This annual event was started more than a decade ago.
Officials attending the conference are aiming to determine economic polices for 2010 that will enhance the economy's ability to cope with global financial crisis and lay a solid foundation for recovery.
Late November, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee said the government will continue its proactive fiscal policy and moderately easy monetary policy next year, hinting that there will not be any early exit. During next year, the government plans to improve policies to spur consumption and to ensure a reasonable pace of growth for investment.
