Tuesday, the Statistics Sweden announced that producer prices fell 1.6% year-on-year in September, much sharper than a 0.1% drop in the previous month. Economists expected a 1.5% fall.
Month-on-month, producer prices slipped 0.9% in September, at the same pace as in August, but steeper than a 0.5% drop expected by economists.
Meanwhile, export prices slid 0.8% on a yearly basis in September, reversing a 1.2% rise last month. Import prices dropped 4% compared to a 2.4% fall in the previous month. On a monthly basis, export prices fell 1.2%, while import prices declined 2.1%.
