Spanish consumer prices declined 0.8% in August on a yearly basis, in line with expectations, the National Statistics Institute reported Friday. However, the annual fall was slower than July's 1.4% fall. Month-on-month, consumer prices were up 0.3%, smaller than the expected 0.4% increase.
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices dipped 0.8% year-on-year in August. The statistical office confirmed the initial estimate for HICP released on August 28.
