Italy's consumer confidence indicator rose to its highest level since December 2006 in September, economic think tank ISAE said Monday.
The sentiment indicator climbed to 113.6 in September from 111.8 recorded in August, while economists were expecting a reading of 112.2.
Following a slight decline in August, a gauge for households' view on general economic situation rose to 89.6 in September from 87.1. The personal situations index climbed to 125.9 from 125.
