UK Services Output Drops Slightly In 3-months To August

UK's services output fell 0.1% in the three months to August compared with the previous three months, when output fell 0.3%. That was in line with economists' expectations.

Two of the five components of the service sector decreased in the three months to August. There were decreases in hotels and restaurants and business services and finance.

Between July and August, Service sector output decreased by 0.3%, with the distribution industry marking the most significant decline.
