Consumer confidence in Great Britain improved sharply in September, according to the latest survey from the GfK NOP group.
The group's survey posted a score of minus-16 for September compared to a reading of minus-25 for August. It marked the highest level for the index since January 2008.
A sub-index of consumer confidence about the economy over the coming 12 months increased 13 points to plus-4 for September, the highest level since May 1998.
Consumer confidence in their own financial situation moved to plus-5 in September compared to the reading of zero in August. All five of the sub-indices moved higher in September.
