Survey results released Tuesday show business conditions in Australia remained stable through the second quarter of 2009, while the expectations for the third quarter are more optimistic.
The survey, compiled and released by the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Commonwealth Bank of Australia showed an index reading for general business conditions of 35.4 for June, up slightly from the March reading of 34.1.
It also showed a reading of 36.9 for June as a measure of expected economic performance, up from the March reading of 30.4.
An ACCI spokesman said the survey is an indication that Australia's economy is showing signs of stabilization.
