Thursday, the Spanish government approved to pay EUR 420 per month for six months to those who lost their jobs and not entitled to normal benefits.

Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega said 340,000 people are eligible for this benefit, provided they participate in government-sponsored training programs.

The government also reportedly approved a new EUR 5 billion package for next year to improve the country's infrastructure.
