Tuesday, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia announced that the industrial turnover increased 6% month-on-month in August on the back of rising activity in the manufacturing sector. In August, the turnover in manufacturing was up 7% compared to the previous month, while that in mining plunged 23%.
On a yearly basis, industrial turnover dropped 17% in August. For the January to August period, industrial turnover decreased 21% compared to the corresponding period of the preceding year.
Meanwhile, industrial new orders increased 11% month-on-month in August, but fell 15% compared to a year ago. Domestic market orders fell 26% year-on-year, while foreign orders dropped 13%.
