Monday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic said the trade balance showed a surplus of 267.7 million euros, up from the 38.6 million euros surplus recorded in the previous month. Exports recorded an annual decline of 14.7% to 3.15 billion euros, while imports dipped 20.5% to 2.88 billion euros.
In the January to August period, exports decreased 26.5% from a year ago, while imports were down 28.6%. For the same period, the cumulative trade balance showed a surplus of 517.8 million euros.
