Monday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 0.6% year-on-year in September, slower than the 1.3% growth in the previous month.
This was the lowest value of consumer price inflation in history, the statistical office said. Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices fell 5.1% in September, while clothing and footwear prices dropped 1.5%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI remained unchanged in September, after falling 0.1% in August.
For the January to September period, consumer prices climbed 2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, the core CPI decreased 0.6% on an annual basis in September, after falling 0.2% in August. At the same time, the net inflation stood at 0.5%, slowing from 1.2% increase in August. Month-on-month, the core CPI dropped 0.1% and net inflation was unchanged in September.
