Portugal Retail Sales Decrease In July

Friday, the Statistics Portugal said in a report that the retail sales dropped a seasonally adjusted 1.1% year-on-year in July, compared with a 0.6% fall in the previous month. A year ago, retail sales were up 1.1%.

At the same time, gross wages and salaries increased 5.1%, while employment and the number of hours worked decreased by 1.4% and 1.9%, respectively.

On a monthly basis, retail sales rose 2.9% in July, faster than the 1.6% growth in the previous month.
