Consumer prices in Portugal dropped 1.5% year-on-year in July, slower than a 1.6% fall in the preceding month, the Statistics Portugal said Wednesday. This was the fifth consecutive month of decline in prices.
Excluding energy and unprocessed foods, consumer prices rose 0.5% compared to a 0.3% rise in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.5% in July, reversing a 0.1% rise in June.
Meanwhile, the harmonized consumer prices fell 1.4% in July compared to a 1.6% fall in the preceding month, marking the fifth consecutive month of decline. Compared to the previous month, the HICP slipped 0.4% in July.
