Poland's new car sales increased 8.14% year-on-year to 24,991 units in September, auto market research company Samar, said on Wednesday.
The number of registered cars is substantially lower than official sales, which was 18% in September, the agency said.
For the first nine months of the year, the new car sales climbed 1.7% to 239,612 units compared to the same period of the previous year.
Skoda was the market leader, with sales of 3 438 units in September, while the second place belong to Fiat with 2 461 cars sold., the Samar said.
Andrzej Trawka, commercial director at Polish Dealers Group or PGD said, "Next year's state budget deficit estimated by the government at a record level of PLN 52 billion is also a negative factor to the economy. Such level will have a negative impact on Polish Zloty exchange rate against Euro and other currencies. Despite scrappage scheme end in Germany and current PLN/EUR exchange rate we look with optimism for the months to come."
