Thursday, a report by the Statistics Norway said consumer prices rose 1.9% on a yearly basis in August, slowing from a 2.2% rise in July. Economists expected a 2.2% increase.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.2%, faster than a 0.1% rise expected by economists, after a 0.6% fall in the preceding month.
In the first eight months of the year, consumer prices climbed 2.5% compared to the same period last year.
Separately, the statistical office said producer prices dropped 1.2% year-on-year in August, slower than 7.1% fall in July. Month-on-month, producer prices rose 4.9%, after a 5.7% fall in the preceding month.
