Malta Retail Price Inflation Rises In August

Wednesday, the National Statistical Office of Malta announced that the retail price index increased 1.56% year-on-year in August, faster than the 1.48% growth in the previous month.

Food prices climbed 6.08% on an annual basis in August, while clothing and footwear prices fell 2.47%. Transportation and communication charges were down 3.68%.

On a monthly basis, retail prices dropped 0.01% in August, compared to the 0.37% fall in the previous month.
