Latvia Trade Deficit Widens

Wednesday, the Central Statistical Bureau announced that the trade deficit stood at LVL 95.7 million in July, widening from LVL 67.2 million deficit in June. The trade deficit was LVL 273.1 million a year ago.

Exports decreased 32.6% year-on-year to LVL 258.8 million in July, while imports fell 46% to LVL 354.5 million.

In July, the total foreign trade turnover at current prices dropped 3.8% on a monthly basis, and fell 41.1% compared to the previous year.
