Bank lending in Japan was up 2.5 percent on year in August, the Bank of Japan said on Tuesday, easing from the 2.8 percent annual expansion in July.
Including trusts, lending was up 1.8 percent on year after the 2.1 percent annual increase in the previous month. Excluding trusts, lending added 1.9 percent on year following the 2.2 percent gain a month earlier.
The central bank also said that the M3 money stock was up 2.0 percent on year after adding an annual 1.9 percent in July. M2 plus CDs gained 2.8 percent on year following the 2.7 percent increase a month earlier.
