Following India-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement, India and Indonesia are set to begin talks for initiating trade in goods and services, reported the media.
A Joint Study Group (JSG) that was set to explore the feasibility of a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA), recommended full fledged talks to negotiate a deal that could result in raising two-way merchandise trade to $20 billion by 2020.
According to a report on the feasibility of the agreement, the JSG finding suggested that there exists a strong case for concluding a CECA between the two countries as a step towards an FTA in trade of goods and services, investments and other areas of economic cooperation.
