Iceland Jan.-June Trade Surplus Widens

Thursday, the Statistics Iceland said in a report that the trade surplus stood at ISK 32.97 billion in the January to June period, up from ISK 37.78 billion deficit in a year ago.

During the period, exports dropped 30.7% annually to ISK 211.8 billion, while imports declined 47.9% to ISK 178.85 billion.

In June, the trade surplus stood at ISK 8.7 billion, up from ISK 7.3 billion in May. A year earlier, the trade surplus was ISK 3.4 billion.
