Greek Jobless Rate Rises In May

Wednesday, the General Secretariat of the National Statistical Service of Greece said in a report that the jobless rate stood at 8.5% in May, up from 6.6% recorded in a year ago.

There were 420,401 unemployed persons in May, larger than 324, 777 persons in the previous year,while economically non-actives were amounted to 4.28 million. Employed persons totaled 4.55 million, up from 4.61 million in a year earlier.
