Germany's seasonally adjusted jobless rate unexpectedly stabilized in August and the number of unemployed logged a surprise fall.
The jobless rate stood at 8.3% in August, unchanged for the second month, data released by the Federal Labor Agency showed Tuesday. Economists had forecast a slight rise to 8.4%.
The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed fell for the second month in August after rising the most in March. The number fell 1,000 in August following a revised fall of 5,000 in July. It was expected to rise 30,000.
