French business sentiment improved to 85 in September, a survey published by the statistical office INSEE showed Wednesday. Economists were expecting the index to rise to 81. The reading for July was revised to 79 from 78.
According to the business leaders, total and export books increased slightly, but considered it to be very low. More business leaders assessed that their past activity improved in the manufacturing industry. The personal production outlook index rose to minus 11, while that for general production climbed to minus 16 in September.
