Friday, a report by Statistics Finland said new orders in the manufacturing sector dropped 37.3% year-on-year in August, faster than the 30.9% fall in the previous month. August marks the eleventh straight month in which new orders have fallen in double-digit figures.
In August, the metal industry showed the largest drop in new orders, down by 44.9%, followed by the chemical industry, down 27.2%.
In the January to August period, new orders dipped 36.9% from the same period of the previous year.
