Monday, the Statistics Finland said the consumer confidence indicator remained unchanged at 8.4 in July from June. Compared to the the previous year, the indicator was slightly stronger, but it continued to remain below the long-term average.
In July, consumers' assessment about Finland's economic situation as also the unemployment situation in the next 12 months improved, while their assessment about household savings in the next one year fell. Consumer were optimistic about their own economic situation in one year. Moreover, consumers considered July the most favorable month ever for purchasing durable goods, as also a good time for raising a loan.
