Finland August Industrial Output Declines At Slower Pace

Friday, a report by Statistics Finland said that industrial output dropped a working day adjusted 21.2% year-on-year in August, slower than the 24.3% fall in the preceding month. This marks the tenth successive month in which industrial production has declined.

The metal industry showed the largest drop in output, falling 33.2% in August. Output in the electrical & electronics industry and the forest industry were down 29.8% and 20.1%, respectively.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell a seasonally adjusted 0.3% in August, markedly slower than the 2.9% decrease in the previous month.
