Wednesday, the Statistics Estonia announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 1.6% year-on-year in September, compared to the 0.9% fall in the previous month.
This was the first time the consumer price index decreased by more than 1% on an annual basis, the statistical office said. The fall in CPI was mainly influenced by decrease of food and motor fuel prices by 6.9% and 11.4%, respectively in September.
Month-on-month, the CPI decreased 0.2% in September, after a flat reading in the previous month.
