Austria Q2 Jobless Rate Rises

Friday, the Statistics Austria announced that the jobless rate stood at 4.6% in the second quarter, down from 4.7% in the previous quarter. A year earlier, the jobless rate was 3.4%.

The number of unemployed totaled 198,800 persons in the second quarter, larger than the 196,700 persons in the previous quarter. A year earlier, the number of unemployed was 145,800.

In the second quarter, the number of unemployed was 4.08 million, larger than the 4.02 million in the first quarter.
