Job vacancies for skilled workers in Australia climbed 1.2 percent in September compared to the previous month, the Department of Employment and Workforce Relations aid on Wednesday. That follows a 1.0 percent monthly increase in August.
On an annual basis, skilled vacancies remain down 50.4 percent.
Building and engineering vacancies saw the largest increase at 9.1 percent on month, while wood trades added 6.7 percent and engineering associates gained 6.4 percent.
By region, skilled vacancies were up 4.7 percent in Victoria, followed by a 3.2 percent increase in Western Australia and a 2.0 percent gain in Tasmania. Vacancies were down 1.7 percent in Southern Australia.
