Wages in Australia, excluding bonuses, increased a seasonally adjusted 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2009.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics also reported Wednesday that Q2 wages were 3.8 percent higher than one year earlier.
Both readings matched the forecasts of most economists, The Bureau said private sector wages, excluding bonuses, were up 0.7 percent on quarter and rose 3.5 percent on year.
Wages in the public sector increased 1.0 percent on quarter and 4.5 percent from a year earlier.
Wages including bonuses increased 0.7 percent on quarter and 3.9 percent on year.
