The value of all construction work in Australia in the second quarter of 2009 declined 0.1 percent from the first quarter, according to data released Wednesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The figure includes both building and engineering work for the quarter.
Building work alone declined a seasonally adjusted 5.7 percent on quarter, totaling A$16.83 billion. Building construction was down 8.5 percent versus one year earlier.
Residential construction values declined 2.6 percent while non-residential construction values were down 9.5 percent in seasonally adjusted terms compared to the previous quarter.
Engineering construction work was up a seasonally adjusted 5.7 percent on quarter.
