Construction permits for private sector houses in Australia increased in August by a seasonally adjusted 3.1 percent.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Wednesday that the number of approvals for private sector houses has risen for eight straight months.
Approvals for all dwelling units, including apartments, declined a seasonally adjusted 0.1 percent, following increases in the preceding two months.
The value for new residential building decreased a seasonally adjusted 1.9 percent.
The seasonally adjusted estimate for the value of total building approved increased 32.6 percent on month, with the value of non-residential construction permits higher by 68.7 percent.
