The Swedish economy expanded 0.2% sequentially in the second quarter, a final report from the Statistics Sweden showed Friday. According to the initial estimate released on July 31, the economy remained flat in the second quarter.
The statistical office also revised the annual GDP decline for the second quarter. GDP dropped 6% in the second quarter, revised from the initial estimate of 6.2% fall.
The report showed that household consumption expenditure declined 1.8%, while general government spending were unaltered. The changes in inventories amounted to a negative GDP change of 2.6 percentage points. Gross fixed capital formation slipped 18.9%. Further, exports and imports dropped 16.9% and 20.3%, respectively.
