Thursday, Romania's National Institute of Statistics announced that the gross domestic product or GDP decreased 8.8% year-over-year in the second quarter, compared to the 6.2% fall in the previous quarter. The GDP came in line with economists' expectations.
In the first half of the year, the GDP dropped 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Sequentially, the GDP declined a seasonally adjusted 1.2% in the second quarter, after falling 4.6% in the first quarter.
