Thursday, Poland's Central Statistical Office said in a report that the industrial production decreased 0.2% year-on-year in August, compared to the 4.4% fall in the previous month, revised from 4.6% decline estimated initially. Economists expected a decline of 0.3%.
Manufacturing production increased 0.6% on an annual basis in August, while mining and quarrying production dropped 3.3%. Production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply was down 2%.
On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 4.7% in August, after falling a revised 2.6% in July.
For the January to August period, industrial production dipped 6.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, the construction production increased 11% year-on-year in August, faster than the 10.7% growth in the previous month. Month-on-month, construction production fell 0.8%.
