Friday, the Cabinet Office of Japan in a final report revised downward the leading index for July, while the coincident index was revised up.
The leading index stood at 82.5 in July, revised down from 83.0 estimated on September 9, but still higher than the reading of 80.9 in June. The index has now increased for the fifth consecutive month in July.
The coincident index was revised up to 89.8 from 89.6 estimated previously, and came in higher than the 88.6 in June. The coincident index increased for the fourth consecutive month in July.
The lagging index was also revised upward, to 82.8 from 82.4 reported earlier, although the revised index was still lower than the prior month's reading of 84.1.
