Friday, Ireland's Central Statistical Office announced that the retail sales volume increased 0.2% month -on-month in July, slower than the 3% growth in the previous month, revised from 2.2% rise reported initially. A year ago, retail sales were up 6.3%.
On an annual basis, retail sales volume dropped 15% in July, compared to the 9.8% decline estimated initially. A year earlier, retail sales were down 5%.
In July, retail sales volume excluding , motor trades decreased 6.2% on an annual basis, and it fell 0.7% compared to the preceding month.
Meanwhile, retail sales value increased 1.6% on a monthly basis in July, faster than the 1.4% growth in June. Retail sales value dropped 19.2% from last year.
