Thursday, Ireland's Central Statistical Office announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 5.9% year-on-year in August, marking the same pace as in the previous month. The consumer price inflation was 4.3% a year ago.
On a monthly basis, the CPI increased 0.4% in August, after falling 0.8% in July.
The harmonized index of consumer prices decreased 2.4% year-on-year in August, compared to the 2.6% fall in the previous month. Month-on-month, the HICP rose 0.2% in August, after falling 0.8% in July.
