Thursday, Ireland's Central Statistical Office announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 5.9% year-over-year in July, compared with a 5.4% fall in the previous month. A year earlier, the CPI was up 4.4%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI dropped 0.8% in July, after falling 0.3% in June.
Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP dropped 2.6% annually in July, compared with a 2.2% fall in the previous month. The HICP dropped 0.8% month-on-month in July, after a flat reading in June.
