World economy may recover a quarter ahead of current expectations,International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn reportedly said Tuesday. But, the recovery would be weak.
"We have been saying for a year that the recovery will come in the first half of 2010. It might even be a quarter ahead," he told Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore in an interview.
"We are seeing the end of the tunnel but we are still in a crisis," he said.
Strauss-Kahn also hinted an upward revision in the IMF world economic outlook, which is expected this week.
