Wednesday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office said in a final report that the consumer price index or CPI remained unchanged on an annual basis in August, compared to the 0.5% fall in the previous month. A year earlier, the CPI was up 3.1%.
Month-on-month, the CPI increased 0.2% in August, after a flat reading in the previous month.
The harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP dropped 0.1% year-on-year in August, marking the same pace as in the previous month. On a monthly basis, the HICP rose 0.3% in August.
The statistical office confirmed its preliminary estimate for consumer prices and harmonized index figures for the month of August.
