French current account deficit narrowed in July as the deficit in goods trade shrank and surpluses in services and revenue remained steady, data released by the Bank of France showed Tuesday.
The current account deficit stood at 1.2 billion euros in July, smaller than the 3.3 billion euros deficit in the previous month.
The shortfall in the goods trade account shrunk to 2.1 billion euros in July from 4.2 billion euros in June. The surplus on services trade increased to 1.2 billion euros from 1.1 billion euros and that on revenue dipped to 1.7 billion euros from 1.8 billion euros.
Further, the capital accounts balance was neutral in July, while the financial account balance logged a 15.4 billion euros deficit, larger than the 1.2 billion euros in the previous month.
