Finland's new passenger car registrations dropped 35.5% year-on-year in August, the Statistics Finland said Friday.
Total vehicle registrations in August were down 30.3% year-on-year to 12,404.
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to August period was 65,051, which is 40.2% down from the year before.
Toyota, Volkswagen and Ford were the most common passenger cars first registered in the January to August period, the statistical office said.
In the January to August period of 2009, a total of 128,038 vehicles were first registered, a fall of 33.8% over the same period of the previous year.
