Thursday, the Statistics Finland announced that the producer prices for manufactured products dropped 8.6% year-on-year in August, compared to the 9.6% fall in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 0.7% in August, after falling 1.1% in July. The increase was mainly due to rise in oil products prices.
Export price index dipped 9.6% on an annual basis in August, slower than the 10.6% decline in the preceding month. At the same time, import price index fell 10.7%, compared to the 12.6% drop in July.
Month-on-month, export price index and import price index increased by 0.6% and 1.6%, respectively in August.
Meanwhile, the wholesale price index or WPI decreased 9.5% year-on-year in August, after falling 10.7% in July. The WPI was up 0.8% compared to the preceding month.
