Finland Overnight Stays Fall In July

Thursday, the Statistics Finland announced that the overnight stays by foreign tourists at nation's accommodation establishments decreased 9% year-on-year to 656,000 in July, compared to the 11% fall seen in the previous month.

The number of nights spent by domestic tourists dropped 2% on an annual basis to 2.2 million in July.

At the same time, the total number of overnight stays decreased by 3.5% to 2.9%, compared to the 3% fall in the preceding month.

The numbers of overnight spent by visitors from the foreign countries decreased in July. Overnight stays of British visitors were the only one that increased from last year, by 6%, and the number of nights spent by Italian visitors remained almost unchanged, the statistical office said.
