Thursday, the Statistics Estonia announced that the overnight stays by tourist in accommodation establishments decreased 9% year-on-year to 317, 000 in July.
Domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments dropped 22% to 100,000 in July , while foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments decreased 2% to 217,000.
Compared to the previous month, the number of tourists increased 42% in July, larger than the 35% growth recorded a year ago. The major tourists came from Finland, Germany, Sweden, Russia and Latvia.
In July, the average cost of a guest night in an accommodation establishment was 435 kroons, which was 6% cheaper than a year earlier, the statistical office said.
