The Eurozone economy is stabilizing and there would be a "gradual and irregular" recovery, European Central Bank Governing Council member and Luxembourg central bank governor Yves Mersch said in a report published on Thursday.
"It seems as if the episode of sharp contraction of economic activity has come to an end," Mersch wrote in the introduction of the semi-annual report.
He said a phase of stabilization is emerging, which should then give way to renewed activity.
Inflation, which is currently in a negative territory, would turn slightly positive in the coming months, the central banker said.
